Home is Where the Heart Is

That's the saying right?  Well here's to finding out...Erich and I just closed on our first home!!!

Like most things, buying our first home was not an easy process and was not all that we thought it was going to be.  There were twists and turns, highs and lows, but in the end we got an absolutely beautiful home that we can make our own.  

This process has only affirmed my strong belief in the saying "Everything Happens for a Reason."  I won't lie that there were nights that I just wanted to give up...frustrated and upset with the whole thing...but I'm so glad we stuck with it...in the end it was all worth it...now where is a paintbrush???  :)

Since this is such an exciting day...I wanted to share a fun song I discovered that just makes me want to dance...it actually was released a while ago in the UK but I have only heard it once over here...maybe I've been living under a rock?? who knows

Happy Friday everyone!! So yesterday was Paella & Sangria party at the Meschkats for Ralph's birthday.  He is a music lover...has loved Amy (Amy Winehouse) for sometime but is currently playing Florence (Florence + The Machine) nightly...last night was no exception.

So as always on Fridays I let the shuffle gods decide which song I will share with you and as luck would have it, a Florence + The Machine song came on and it is one of Erich's favorites too = perfection.  So here is a piece of Florence genius and percussion heaven...have a great weekend!!

Happy Wednesday everybody and happy first blog post.  Quite simply this is a blog about music and its translation in life, or just an opportunity to share eclectic music, events, books etc...So without further ado the first Life according to Music post:

I personally love this song, starting with that first line.  I remember playing catch with my dad when I was about 10.  We were in the front yard and I tried to impress him with a "big girl" throw.  Well that big girl throw went over his head and made a big dent in his car.  Hiding in my room, I wanted to turn back the clock and stop that event from ever taking place.  I bet there are incidents in everyone's lives that are "regrettable," some more than others.  But those regrettable pasts are building blocks for our futures...we can't turn back our lives, there is neutral and drive in this car.  So raise your glass...here is to driving forward (and not swerving into other drivers lanes).
